Requirements: POSITION SUMMARY: Ensure that all products coming into the facility are consistently high quality and adhere to relevant specifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Inspect all fresh produce arriving at the facility before it's accepted into the warehouseDocument issues noticed during inspection process and discuss inspection results to the Quality SupervisorRecommend adjustments and changes to increase product consistencyInspect produce returned by retail customers to determine cause of credit and evaluate who is responsible and how to reduce future issuesComply with all aspects of the food safety programs and assist with recordkeeping requirements Attend seminars and educational conferences to stay up to date on USDA standards and company quality standardsPerform other related duties as necessary or assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalentKnowledge of fresh produce Forklift certification preferredREQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of or willingness to learn about fresh produce with a special emphasis on potatoes and onionsAttention to detailAnalytical and problem-solving skillsStrong leadership skills and teamwork mentalityWritten communication skillsPHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:Prolonged periods standing and walking Various repetitive movements and good manual dexterity to perform required tasksExposure to airborne particles or fumesStairs will need to be climbed throughout the day to access the grading lineMust wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areasOccasionally will need to lift up to 60 poundsWork Schedule:5:45 - 2:30 pmIncreased hours during storage time (September - End of October)PI3a1bb5-
