Overview

Saelens Corporation is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin. The role involves conducting inspections and ensuring the quality of machined parts, with responsibilities spanning from operating precision tools to collaborating with engineering teams on process improvements.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts
  • Operate and calibrate precision measuring instruments
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints including GD&T
  • Maintain detailed inspection records and quality documentation
  • Identify and document non-conforming materials
  • Assist in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
  • Collaborate with machinists on quality issues and compliance

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1-3+ years of experience in quality control or inspection
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and GD&T
  • Experience with CMM programming (e.g., Zeiss, Keyence, Mitutoyo)
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949, and SPC
  • Knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes
  • Strong mechanical understanding of parts and assembly
