Job Description Job Description Quality Control TechnicianJob SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to perform testing and analytical evaluations on thermoplastic materials, in-process compounds, and finished products. This role ensures compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards while supporting production efficiency and continuous improvement efforts.This position offers hands-on laboratory work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with opportunities to collaborate across Production, R&D, and Quality teams.Key ResponsibilitiesTesting and AnalysisPerform routine and non-routine physical, mechanical, and analytical testing on raw materials, in-process compounds, and finished TPE productsFollow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ASTM, and ISO standardsEvaluate test results and ensure timely release or disposition of materialsEquipment OperationSet up, operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory and pilot-scale equipmentEquipment includes viscometers, durometers, FTIR, balances, ovens, presses, molding, and extrusion equipmentMonitor equipment performance and report issues promptlyDocumentation and ComplianceAccurately record test methods, results, and observations in LIMS and lab recordsMaintain traceability and data integrity in compliance with quality systems and GLP/GMP standardsIdentify and document non-conforming materials and out-of-specification resultsQuality & Continuous ImprovementAssist with investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA activitiesSupport continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiencySafety and Team CollaborationMaintain a clean and safe laboratory environmentFollow all safety procedures and PPE requirementsCollaborate with Production, R&D, Shipping, and Quality teamsCommunicate results and quality concerns clearly to stakeholdersQualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or GEDExperience in a quality control or manufacturing laboratory environmentPreferredAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science, or related fieldExperience in regulated industries (plastics, automotive, or medical device)Skills and CompetenciesKnowledge of physical and mechanical testing (tensile, elongation, hardness, melt flow, etc.)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail and commitment to data accuracyFamiliarity with LIMS and Microsoft OfficeAbility to work independently and in a team environmentStrong communication skills and adaptability in a fast-paced settingPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, or sit for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 60 lbsAbility to bend, kneel, crouch, and climb as neededManual dexterity and visual acuity requiredAbility to work in lab, office, and manufacturing environmentsMust wear required PPEWork EnvironmentThis role involves working in laboratory and manufacturing settings with exposure to moving equipment, noise, heat, and airborne particles.
