Job Description

Overview

The Quality Control Specialist at Martin Marietta's Bridgeport Technical Services Lab is responsible for ensuring that laboratory activities are safe, efficient, and productive. This role provides vital technical support to the Production, Sales, and Exploration teams, while maintaining high standards of quality in testing and materials evaluation.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing to achieve productivity and integrity of results
  • Log and report materials testing results timely using Stonemont QC program
  • Assist in quality control issues and training of new QC technicians
  • Optimize production processes while maintaining quality standards
  • Travel to District plants and rail terminals for sampling aggregates
  • Respond to customer complaints and help resolve defective materials issues
  • Maintain a clean laboratory environment and ensure proper testing techniques

Required skills

  • Minimum three years of experience in aggregate quality testing
  • Knowledge of ACI, ASTM, ODOT, TxDOT, and NTCOG specifications and procedures
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet research
  • Ability to perform physical activities related to laboratory and field testing
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules
