Overview

Butcher Power Products (BPP) is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for their Rancho Cordova facility, responsible for in-process quality inspection in either fabrication or assembly. This role is key to ensuring the reliability and conformity of essential power solutions through detailed inspections and documentation.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform in-process quality inspections at defined critical points in the production workflow
  • Verify dimensional and visual requirements against specifications and work instructions
  • Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming products
  • Conduct incoming material inspections and verify compliance with purchase order requirements
  • Record inspection results and maintain accurate documentation
  • Float to secondary facility as needed for coverage and continuity
  • Complete required inspection records, logs, and checklists in a timely manner
  • Provide feedback on recurring defects and support data collection for quality tracking

Required skills

  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection or quality control in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with basic measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures)
  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship defect identification
  • Ability to document findings clearly in writing
  • Comfortable working in both Fabrication and Assembly environments
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate's degree or technical certification in manufacturing or quality
  • Experience in electrical equipment or metal fabrication manufacturing
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with incoming material inspection and supplier documentation review
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT)
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain
