Job Description

Overview

The QC Chemist II role at SOFIE involves the analysis of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals within the Radiopharmaceutical Contract Manufacturing Division. The position requires adherence to SOFIE's QA program and cGMP guidelines to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct Quality Control analytical tests for radiopharmaceuticals according to cGMP standards
  • Prepare standards, samples, and mobile phase solutions for analytical methods
  • Perform visual inspections and laboratory appearance testing of finished products
  • Initiate deviation and OOS reports and lead root cause investigations
  • Develop, implement, and validate Quality Control analytical methods
  • Review and suggest modifications to existing Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs)
  • Install, qualify, and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Collaborate with production radiochemists for protocol development
  • Perform release testing on raw materials for radiopharmaceutical production
  • Conduct environmental monitoring and maintain safety regulations

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or natural science
  • 2+ years of experience in analytical chemistry and instrumentation
  • Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment
  • Expertise in laboratory procedures and analytical chemistry techniques (e.g., thin layer chromatography, GC, HPLC)
  • Knowledge of cGMP requirements and aseptic processes
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Strong technical writing and organizational skills
  • 20/20 natural or corrected vision
  • Ability to work various shifts and weekends
