This key leadership role is responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality materials, optimizing inventory and costs, and building strong supplier partnerships to support our world-class manufacturing operations.As the Purchasing Manager, you will lead and develop the purchasing team while collaborating closely with operations, planning, engineering, quality, finance, and suppliers to ensure materials are available to meet production demands. You will drive supplier performance, negotiate strategic agreements, mitigate supply chain risks, and identify continuous improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support operational excellence. General hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. - 4:30 p.m.Position Overview:Under the direction of the Director of Materials, the Purchasing Manager provides strategic leadership for the purchasing function and oversees the team of direct material Buyers. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality materials, components, and services required to support production while balancing cost, quality, and delivery objectives.The Purchasing Manager leads the planning and execution of purchasing strategies by analyzing current and forecasted demand, inventory levels, and supplier performance to ensure uninterrupted material availability. This position develops and maintains strong supplier relationships, negotiates pricing and contracts, mitigates supply chain risks, and drives continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. Working closely with Operations, Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Finance, the Purchasing Manager ensures procurement activities align with business objectives while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures. Through effective leadership, data-driven decision-making, and a focus on operational excellence, the Purchasing Manager plays a critical role in supporting Composition Brands' manufacturing success.Responsibilities:Lead, coach, and develop the Purchasing team, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and performance objectives while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Ensure the Purchasing team meets or exceeds key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supplier performance, inventory management, cost savings, on-time delivery, and material availability.Develop and execute purchasing strategies that support production schedules, inventory objectives, and overall business goals.Monitor procurement metrics and supplier performance, implementing corrective actions, process improvements, and countermeasures to ensure consistent delivery, quality, and cost performance.Oversee inventory planning by utilizing MRP and ERP systems to maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure uninterrupted production.Review demand forecasts, production schedules, and ERP reports to ensure adequate material availability while minimizing excess inventory.Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate supply chain risks through contingency planning and suppl
