Overview

The Purchasing Manager at Bundy Baking Solutions is responsible for sourcing and purchasing essential materials and services to meet production schedules. This role includes negotiating purchase agreements and developing inventory controls to minimize disruptions in business operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain ordering systems for materials, supplies, and equipment
  • Update material and production routing sheets and customer price lists
  • Solicit bids from suppliers and evaluate proposals
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers
  • Create purchase orders for production demands
  • Track and expedite orders and verify shipment details
  • Develop strategies to optimize inventory levels
  • Manage receiving personnel and perform annual reviews
  • Prepare correspondence related to purchasing
  • Resolve invoice problems and issues with deliveries

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain management preferred
  • 5 years of related experience or training
  • Understanding of goods and services flow in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of procurement software (Macola or SAP Business One preferred)
  • Negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities

  • Competence in stock control and inventory procedures
