Job Description

Overview

Shift 1st ShiftDescription Collect blood from flock as needed to review vaccination titer work, and flock certification every 14 weeks for NPIP purposes. Assist pullet manager as directed. Bleed pullets and breeder hens as scheduled. Collect fat and blood samples prior to processing. Prepare and deliver samples to State Lab. Create weekly schedule. Assist in the delivery of pullets to the Farm. Adhere to animal welfare policy. All other relevant duties as assigned.Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science or other closely related field of study preferred. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. General knowledge and usage of computers, internet, and spreadsheet and word processing software.Physical Requirements Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Exposure to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines. Exposure to damp, wet, and cold environments. Work around live and/or raw animal odors.
