Overview

Pacific Life is seeking a Public Credit Research Analyst to join their Public Credit Analysis team in Newport Beach, CA. This Director-level position involves making informed buy/sell/hold decisions on fixed-income securities within the Regional Bank sector to support the company's policyholder obligations.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct fundamental credit research on investment grade and high-yield corporate credits
  • Make buy/sell/hold recommendations for inclusion in the company's general account
  • Analyze regional banks and assess investment opportunities
  • Collaborate with senior analysts and portfolio management teams
  • Develop relationships with sell-side analysts and credit rating agencies

Required skills

  • 7+ years of investment research experience
  • Minimum of 2 years focused on the regional bank sector
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Financial modeling and analysis
  • Understanding of bank regulation and capital requirements
  • Familiarity with financial databases like Bloomberg
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
