Job Description

Overview

The Psychiatry Physician role at ATC West Healthcare Services involves delivering comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. The psychiatrist will provide assessments, medication management, treatment planning, and multidisciplinary oversight in both inpatient and outpatient settings, while also supporting clinical standards and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including mental status exams and diagnostic assessments
  • Provide psychiatric consultations and approve service and treatment plans
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, including during emergencies
  • Oversee medication clinics and supervision for assigned patients
  • Approve discharge plans and ensure continuity of care
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision for multidisciplinary treatment teams
  • Support training and workshop development in psychotherapy and behavior management
  • Participate in organizational initiatives and special projects as assigned

Required skills

  • Valid California Physician and Surgeon license
  • Completion of accredited graduate psychiatric education
  • Valid Controlled Substance Registration Certificate
  • Preferred experience in psychiatric healthcare settings
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information and collaborate effectively
  • Demonstrated expertise in psychiatric assessment, medication management, and treatment planning
  • Commitment to patient-centered psychiatric care and ethical practice
