Overview

Traditions Behavioral Health is seeking a Staff Psychiatrist for Psychiatric Emergency Services in Martinez, California. This role involves providing overnight psychiatric coverage and working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver urgent psychiatric evaluations and treatment for patients in acute mental health crises.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations for patients with acute mental health needs
  • Diagnose and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders
  • Develop treatment plans and coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team
  • Provide clinical consultation, training, and support to nursing and clinical staff
  • Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the electronic medical record
  • Participate in team discussions and care coordination within the PES environment

Required skills

  • MD or DO with completion of Psychiatry residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active California medical license or ability to obtain
  • Experience in emergency psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, or crisis stabilization
  • Strong psychiatric diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity environments
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care
