Staff Psychiatrist Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) Location: Martinez, CaliforniaA well-established behavioral health program in Martinez, CA is seeking a Staff Psychiatrist to provide overnight coverage in a Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) setting. This position offers the opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary team providing urgent psychiatric evaluation and treatment to patients experiencing acute mental health crises. Position Overview The Staff Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients presenting to Psychiatric Emergency Services. This role also supports clinical staff through consultation and guidance related to psychiatric and medical issues. Schedule Overnight coverage6:00 PM 9:00 AM PT (7 shifts)11:00 PM 9:00 AM PT (2 shifts)Total: 9 shifts every 4 weeksRotating schedule Patient Volume Average daily census: patients Key Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric evaluations for patients presenting with acute mental health needsDiagnose and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disordersDevelop treatment plans and coordinate care with the multidisciplinary teamProvide clinical consultation, training, and support to nursing and clinical staff on psychiatric and medical-related issuesDocument patient encounters and treatment plans in the electronic medical recordParticipate in team discussions and care coordination within the PES environment Qualifications MD or DO with completion of Psychiatry residencyBoard Certified or Board Eligible in PsychiatryActive California medical license or ability to obtainExperience in emergency psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, or crisis stabilization preferredAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Skills & Competencies Strong psychiatric diagnostic and clinical decision-making skillsExperience managing acute psychiatric presentationsEffective communication and teamwork in high-acuity environmentsCommitment to patient safety and quality care If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please apply through DocCafe to connect with our recruiting team.
