Overview

The Staff Psychiatrist at ATC West Healthcare Services will deliver comprehensive psychiatric care for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, operating in both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings. This role includes responsibilities for medication management, treatment planning, and providing leadership within multidisciplinary teams while ensuring high clinical standards and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
  • Provide psychiatric consultations and approve treatment plans
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications
  • Oversee medication clinics and ensure daily medication supervision
  • Approve discharge plans and ensure continuity of care
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision for treatment teams
  • Support training and educational initiatives in psychodiagnostics and behavior management
  • Participate in organizational initiatives and special projects

Required skills

  • Valid California Physician and Surgeon license
  • Completion of accredited graduate psychiatric education
  • Valid Controlled Substance Registration Certificate
  • Experience in psychiatric healthcare settings
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
