Find your future with us.Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Propulsion & Fuel System Engineer (Mid-Level or Senior) to join the 787 Propulsion Charleston Team in North Charleston, SC.This role combines engineering analysis, systems integration, and hands-on factory and delivery support at our Charleston final assembly and delivery centers and Charleston Propulsion center. You'll work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary, agile environment using modern tools and practices, with strong opportunities for technical and leadership professional development. In addition, you will contribute to critical aircraft programs that directly affect safety, performance, and quality of customer aircraft deliveries. Help shape Fuel System performance and integration solutions, working closely with our engine and system suppliers to support production and delivery of 787 aircraft. Work with a supportive, innovative, and solution driven team focused on serving our customers and delivering products that connect people around the world.Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Mid-Level (Level 3) or Senior (Level 4) System Engineers.Primary Responsibilities: Lead integration of propulsion and fuel system changes across airplane systems, developing robust design solutions to support product improvementsPlan, oversee, review, and approve engineering products and deliverables for the team, ensuring safety, quality, and timelinessMaintain Boeing design oversight for supplier provided fuel system components; review and approve supplier drawings, engineering change proposals, and configuration updatesEngage suppliers to define, plan, and execute qualification testing and manage supplier initiated design modificationsManage Boeing Specification Control Document (SCD) requirements, including revisions and new SCD developmentProvide on site factory and delivery support in North Charleston: troubleshoot fuel system issues on the production line, support production holds, perform pre delivery inspections, and assist with delivery acceptanceInvestigate and resolve fleet, production, and supplier issues (Service Requests, Notices of Escape, Non Conformances, Engineering Liaison Requests, Change Notices, etc.) to maintain production flow and delivery schedulesCoordinate, develop, and publish test plans, procedures, and reports; analyze test, certification, and production data to support timely dispositionsAnalyze system performance data to support safety, compliance, and airworthiness investigations; create and update system safety analyses and airworthiness limitations for the 787Coordinate across internal partners (Electromagnetic Effects (EME), Reliability Maintainability and Testability (RM&T), Airplane Safety Engineering (ASE), Structures/Stress, Flight Test, Service Engineering, Production, Ground Ops, Regulatory Administration, etc.) to meet project goals and aircraft delivery milestones Communicate project status, risks, issues, and opportunities to Propulsion and Program leadership; represent Boeing professionally with suppliers, delivery teams, and external partnersWork with general supervision, self directing activities based on customer, product, and stakeholder needsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement5+ years of experience working in an engineering disciplineWilling and able to travel 10-20% of the time, both domestically and internationally.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Level 4: 9+ years
