Overview

New River Electrical Corporation is seeking a Project Manager for their Substation Division in Cloverdale, Virginia. This role involves assisting lead project managers in executing projects of varying complexity, managing project schedules, budgets, and safety practices while developing necessary skills to lead intermediate projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist lead project managers in project execution and administration tasks
  • Cultivate relationships with customers under guidance
  • Review RFP opportunities and participate in bidding strategy development
  • Prepare project initiation plans including schedules and safety plans
  • Conduct job site safety audits and ensure compliance with safety policies
  • Communicate project status and issues to stakeholders
  • Manage project costs and proactively identify risks
  • Support monthly work-in-progress reports and revenue reconciliation

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
  • 0-3 years of utility or construction internship experience preferred
  • 8 years of hands-on construction experience may substitute for degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
