Job Description

Overview

The City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Project Manager II for the Stormwater department to oversee various stormwater and seawall projects. This role requires advanced project management and technical skills to manage projects from planning and design to construction and inspection, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and technical standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage multiple stormwater and seawall projects simultaneously in various stages of development.
  • Prepare engineering designs, calculations, specifications, estimates, and technical reports.
  • Review and authorize engineering designs and construction plans developed by consultants.
  • Monitor and direct the work of contractors and engineering consultants.
  • Coordinate with city departments and external agencies on project-related activities.
  • Respond to public inquiries regarding drainage-related matters.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in public works project design and construction.
  • Experience in municipal stormwater projects.
  • Knowledge of permitting processes for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
  • Familiarity with NPDES regulations and local environmental protection standards.
  • Ability to work with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
