Overview

Schmidt Associates is seeking an Engineering (MEP) Project Manager to lead various engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring that objectives related to scope, schedule, budget, and quality are met. This role involves close coordination with clients, internal teams, and external consultants throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants.
  • Provide technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously from conceptual design through construction administration.
  • Develop strong client relationships and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Represent the firm in meetings, interviews, and industry events.
  • Produce clear documentation and reports.

Required skills

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Kentucky
  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP and energy modeling software
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles including LEED and WELL
  • Experience in business development and client presentations
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines
