Overview

Montgomery & Associates is seeking a full-time Project Hydrogeologist to join their California team, focusing on groundwater resource planning and environmental projects. The role involves managing tasks and projects while collaborating with a dedicated team of water resource professionals, primarily located in Oakland and Sacramento.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and contribute to tasks focused on quantitative hydrogeology and groundwater resource management.
  • Support the implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA).
  • Coordinate monitoring programs, data evaluation, and reporting for groundwater remediation activities.
  • Interpret various geophysical and hydrologic data.
  • Design and interpret predictive modeling runs and support model updates.
  • Fill hydrogeologic data gaps and develop hydrogeologic conceptual models.
  • Design and manage field investigations and monitoring programs.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and work plans.
  • Oversee work completed by junior staff and assist project managers with administrative duties.

Required skills

  • Graduate degree in hydrology, geology, civil engineering, or environmental engineering OR Professional registration (P.G
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in environmental and water resource consulting
  • Task or project management experience
  • Proficiency with hydrogeologic principles and SGMA regulatory requirements
  • Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Technical writing skills and presentation capability to peers and clients
  • Team-oriented with experience in delegating work and reviewing deliverables
  • Working knowledge of GIS (ArcGIS), Survey123, SQL, and Access databases
  • Experience with groundwater models and stratigraphic modeling software
