Overview

Montgomery & Associates (M&A) is looking for a full-time Project Hydrogeologist to join their California team, focusing on groundwater resource and environmental projects. This mid-level position involves managing multiple tasks while providing technical support and working collaboratively with a dynamic team of water resource scientists and engineers across multiple offices.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and technically contribute to tasks and projects related to hydrogeology and groundwater resource management
  • Support the planning and implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA)
  • Coordinate groundwater remediation activities and monitoring programs
  • Interpret various geophysical and hydrologic data sets
  • Design and evaluate predictive modeling runs
  • Develop hydrogeologic conceptual models and water budgets
  • Design and manage field investigations and monitoring programs
  • Evaluate data and prepare technical reports and proposals
  • Oversee work completed by junior staff
  • Assist project managers with administrative duties

Required skills

  • Graduate degree in hydrology, geology, civil engineering, or environmental engineering or professional registration (P.G
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in environmental and water resource consulting
  • Task or project management experience
  • Understanding of SGMA regulatory requirements
  • Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency with standard analytical approaches and tools
  • Technical writing skills
  • Team-oriented experience with delegating work
