Overview

Exxel Pacific is looking for a Project Engineer to join their dynamic team in Lacey, Washington. This role involves supporting the Project Manager and Superintendent in the daily administrative management of construction projects, including documentation and cost control.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with project documentation and administrative tasks.
  • Manage submittal, RFI, and as-built processes.
  • Assist in material procurement and track accuracy of project estimates.
  • Solicit new subcontractors and suppliers and perform pre-qualification steps.
  • Develop bid packages and keep track of all project submittals.
  • Accurately manage drawings, subcontractor documents, and other on-site documentation.
  • Summarize project details and manage change order procedures.
  • Track project schedule and maintain progress reports.
  • Assist in managing project budget and completion of required project mockups.
  • Schedule team meetings and keep a photographic and video record of the project.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary training to stay current with project needs.

Required skills

  • B.S. in Construction Management or Engineering
  • 2-3 years of experience in the construction industry or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge in construction management processes
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Bluebeam/PDF, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling software
  • Experience with Viewpoint is beneficial
  • Ability to understand drawings, project specifications, and contracts
