Job Description

Overview

The Project Engineer at E-Z Bel Construction in San Antonio, TX provides essential support to the Project Manager and Superintendent by managing project documentation and workflows. This role is critical in ensuring that project schedules and costs are accurately maintained, serving as a bridge between management and field operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare RFIs, submittals, and subcontract documents for project manager review
  • Maintain job files, drawing logs, and digital project repositories
  • Assist with procurement planning and contract review
  • Track production quantities, cost codes, and job performance using software and Excel
  • Update the master project schedule with field progress and changes
  • Coordinate survey requests, permits, and inspections
  • Order materials and verify delivery tickets for compliance
  • Support project communication through various channels and meetings
  • Prepare closeout packages and support punch list coordination
  • Assist with lessons learned and final documentation

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Management, Engineering or related field preferred
  • Entry-level to 3 years of construction or infrastructure experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, HCSS/HeavyJob
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines
  • Valid Texas Driver's License required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
