Job Description

Overview

The Project Engineer at E-Z Bel Construction plays a vital role in supporting the Project Manager and Superintendent by overseeing project documentation and coordinating workflows. This position focuses on improving schedule reliability while contributing to cost control and profitability through detailed organization and effective communication.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare RFIs, submittals, subcontract documents, and preconstruction packages for PM review
  • Maintain job files, drawing logs, and digital project repositories
  • Assist PM with procurement planning and contract review
  • Solicit quotes and organize subcontractor/vendor proposals
  • Track production quantities and job performance using HCSS/HeavyJob and Excel
  • Assist with preparing monthly pay estimates and verify quantities
  • Conduct field visits to verify quantities and support field operations
  • Update the master project schedule with field progress
  • Coordinate survey requests, permits, inspections, and deliveries
  • Order materials and verify delivery tickets
  • Maintain organized production sheets and meeting notes
  • Prepare closeout packages and support punch list coordination
  • Participate in project reporting requirements and assist PM with lessons learned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Entry-level to 3+ years of construction or infrastructure experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and HCSS/HeavyJob
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Valid Texas Driver's License required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
