Job Description

Overview

SCM, Inc. is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to ensure the smooth execution of construction projects in Hyattsville, MD. This role serves as the central hub of communication, managing information flow between contractors, suppliers, and clients throughout project planning and completion.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate RFI logs, permits, contracts, change orders, and project drawings.
  • Manage site access, material deliveries, and scheduling for subcontractors and staff across multiple projects.
  • Assist in managing and tracking certified payroll for state agencies and ensure all documents meet regulatory standards.
  • Work with vendors to obtain cost-effective pricing; manage inventory and verify deliveries.
  • Facilitate meetings, draft kickoff/weekly minutes, and support the subcontracting and purchase order (PO) process.
  • Communicate daily progress and escalate site issues or safety violations to management immediately.

Required skills

  • 3+ years in construction coordination or relevant administrative role
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in reading technical documents and interpreting project plans
  • Strong analytical skills for estimating, scheduling, and troubleshooting
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Physical stamina for occasional heavy labor or site walkthroughs
