Beyond musical skill, CSU builds discipline, teamwork, confidence, and leadership in every student it serves.Position SummaryCSU is seeking a Program Supervisor to provide on-site supervision of program operations, to serve as the organization's steward of student safety, and to keep weekly Saturday programming activities well-run. The Program Supervisor reports to the President & CEO and works closely with the Director of Programs and instructors.The majority of on-site supervision takes place during Saturday programming at Epiphany School in Dorchester, and occasionally at other sites when necessary, including Roxbury YMCA and Twelfth Baptist Church in Newton when an alternative location is planned.This contract covers 12 Saturdays from September through December, with the possibility of renewal through the remainder of the program season (through May) and beyond. A typical Saturday shift is 8:15 am - 3:15 pm and a typical month has one Saturday off. If Program Supervisor's schedule allows, presence at CSU performances at various Boston-area venues is most welcome, but not required, providing additional paid hours.Primary Responsibilities Provide direct on-site supervision of program operations on all contracted Saturdays Maintain a positive, nurturing, and orderly environment for activities Serve as the point person for questions, incidents, and needs that arise during programming Ensure safe drop off and pick up of all program students, contacting the operations team for any questions or concerns Proactively anticipate and address potential concerns to maintain safety Respond to and document incidents, and escalate to the President as appropriate With the assistance of Front Desk attendant, ensure students are released only to registered and approved guardians Report facility issues, damage, or supply needs to the President & CEO and partner site contacts Submit required weekly reports to the President & CEO on schedule Recommend improvements to protocols and procedures based on observations during programming Participate in staff meetings and planning conversations, and assist with related program operations as needed, as availableRequired Qualifications Experience supervising youth programs, school activities, camps, or comparable settings Demonstrated commitment to child safety and sound judgment in youth-serving environments Strong administrative and organizational skills, with attention to detail Ability to keep records organized and deliver weekly reports on schedule Ability to remain calm, warm, and decisive in busy or unexpected situations Excellent communication skills with children, families, staff, and CSU partners Reliable availability for all contracted Saturdays, 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., plus the two September training sessions and offsite events Computer proficiency Ability to pass a CORI/SORI background check Professional presentation Preferred Qualifications Experience coordinating group activities or events Familiarity with Google Workspace Familiarity with emergency preparedness, accessibility requirements, and/or venue security Interest in youth development and/or music education Desired Personal Qualities ProfessionalAttentiveWarm, cheerful, and approachableDependableFocused under pressureSelf-awareEmotionally intelligentAble to give and receive constructive feedbackWilling to learn skills on the jobAble to maintain consistent structure & routinesContract details:Compensation: $30 per hour Classification: Independent contractorContract term: 4-month, RenewableSeptember throu
