Job Description

Overview

The Institute of International Education (IIE) is hiring a Program Officer for the Language Training Center and ROTC Initiative programs. This role involves managing a portfolio of U.S. universities to implement educational programs aimed at enhancing language training and regional expertise among ROTC students, alongside other Department of Defense partners. The position plays a crucial role in collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure program compliance and effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for a portfolio of IIE programs.
  • Provide programmatic training and onboarding for new staff at partner universities.
  • Facilitate the institutional grant award process by drafting grant umbrella awards.
  • Monitor program compliance and progress, providing technical guidance as needed.
  • Conduct site visits to assess program progress and compliance.
  • Analyze program data to make policy recommendations.
  • Maintain program communications and data in the Client Relationship Management system.
  • Assist in planning and implementing program events such as webinars and annual meetings.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related work experience.
  • Strong understanding of international education programming.
  • Experience working with U.S. higher education institutions or U.S. military and ROTC preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High level of financial numeracy and accuracy preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
