Job Description

Overview

The Program Obsolescence Lead at Raytheon in Tucson, Arizona, plays a critical role in managing and mitigating obsolescence issues for electronic components within various program phases. This position involves leading a team to resolve obsolescence challenges, collaborating with multiple disciplines, and ensuring the sustainability of components across the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Understand and generate program statements of work (SOW) and customer requirements.
  • Develop and sustain obsolescence management processes to deliver cost-saving solutions.
  • Drive resolution of obsolescence issues through various mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct trade studies to identify effective redesign options.
  • Interface regularly with program and customer leadership to communicate mitigation strategy status.
  • Engage in contract negotiations and support proposal efforts.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in obsolescence management.
  • Data collection, analysis, and presentation skills.
  • Project management experience working with schedules, costs, and stakeholder integration.
  • Financial and contract management experience including proposals and SOWs.
  • BOM development and management experience.
  • Risk and opportunity business case analysis experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
