Job Description

Overview

The Program Manager for Maternal Services at CHRISTUS Health is responsible for developing and leading nursing maternal/perinatal initiatives. This role involves collaborating with the Maternal Medical Director and regional clinical leaders to implement clinical strategies and ensure optimal patient care performance across facilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement maternal/perinatal initiatives in collaboration with clinical leaders
  • Co-chair the facility's Maternal QAPI Committee
  • Ensure compliance with performance indicators and improvement plans
  • Act as a subject matter expert in maternal/perinatal nursing policies and procedures
  • Monitor progress of action plans and manage deviations
  • Manage resource forecasting and fill gaps in resources or training
  • Provide leadership and training to team members
  • Communicate effectively with staff to achieve goals and objectives
  • Establish department quality objectives and benchmarks
  • Develop tools to measure performance and report on project status
  • Participate in ongoing education and simulations for perinatal care

Required skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • 5+ years of clinical experience in perinatal nursing
  • Registered Nurse license in the state of employment or compact
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program
  • Certification in AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Leadership and project management experience
  • Knowledge of healthcare education and clinical care processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
