Job Description

Overview

The Program Leader position at Think Together involves working part-time with a group of students in an in-person educational setting across California. This role is focused on being a positive adult role model and fostering a safe, engaging environment that supports students' growth and development.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead a group of 20-25 students, maintaining high standards for behavior and safety.
  • Serve as a positive adult role model through appropriate dress, speech, and attitude.
  • Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging.
  • Support students in making positive behavior choices and implement disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Identify student needs and communicate appropriately with the Site Program Manager, teachers, and parents.
  • Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment, and physical activity.
  • Maintain student safety by managing roll call and sign-in/sign-out processes.
  • Assist with snack preparation, serving, and clean-up.
  • Help keep the school or community site clean and orderly.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 48 semester/60 quarter units or passing a pre-employment test.
  • Fluent in Standard English for communication.
  • Criminal background check via fingerprinting (Live Scan).
  • Negative TB Test dated within the last 3 years.
  • At least six months of experience with groups of 10 or more students.
  • Advanced Math and English skills (K-8).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bi-literate preferred, with Spanish as a valued skill.
