Job Description

Overview

The Program Leader role at Think Together is a part-time, in-person position responsible for leading and mentoring a group of students in an educational setting. The role emphasizes creating a nurturing and safe environment for students to thrive academically and socially, while also maintaining behavioral standards based on the organization's core agreements.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead a group of 20-25 students in person, ensuring safety and behavioral standards.
  • Serve as a positive adult role model for children.
  • Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging.
  • Support students in making positive behavior choices and implement disciplinary measures as needed.
  • Identify and communicate student needs to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide homework assistance and academic enrichment.
  • Assist with snack preparation, serving, and cleanup.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the school or community site.
  • Ensure student safety through attendance tracking.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 48 semester/60 quarter units or passing pre-employment test (district-specific).
  • Ability to communicate in Standard English.
  • Criminal background check clearance.
  • Negative TB Test within the last 3 years.
  • At least six months of experience working with groups of students.
  • Advanced Math and English skills (K-8).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred) to support English-learner population.
