At ACD, our clients get the excellence and expertise of a large engineering firm, combined with the open communication and valued relationships that you can only get from a smaller firm.Position OverviewWe are looking for a Professional Land Surveyor (PS) to join our Land Survey team.Advanced Civil Design is seeking motivated and dynamic professionals to join our Gahanna, OH office. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to some of the largest and most impactful development projects in this rapidly growing region.The Professional Surveyor will measure property boundaries, provide essential data, and support growth of Advanced Civil Design.Key Responsibilities Prepare Boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, right-of-way surveys, plats, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, etc. QA/QC field data, import, analyze and adjust survey field data. Gain experience and knowledge in all facets of surveying in both field and office settings including preliminary surveying, construction staking and calculations Records research of previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for field surveys. Assists in planning and scheduling survey projects, including setting project timelines and budgets, identifying survey goals, and determining the appropriate survey methodology. Aids in design surveys to gather data relevant to the organization's objectives, including selecting survey questions, designing questionnaires, and testing survey instruments. Oversee the administration of surveys, including selecting and training survey staff, supervising data collection, and monitoring progress to ensure that surveys are completed on time and within budget. Ensure effective use of surveying techniques according to industry standards on client projects. Communicates survey results to senior management, publishes reports, and creates visual representations of data. Collaborates to continue effective training and development of our technicians. Engage in problem solving with municipal or utility companies to move a project forward. Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment to meet project deadlines. Assist in the preparation of surveying project proposals. Provide technical advice regarding survey topics to clients and managerial personnel.QualificationsEducation, Experience & Licensure: State of Ohio Professional Surveyor License 3+ year of AutoCAD experience Drivers license Strong knowledge of technological advances, principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying Advanced knowledge of local survey laws, surveying principles, techniques, and procedures Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions Knowledge of survey and technical software including but not limited to AutoCAD, Carlson, BIM, GPS, and robotic total stations Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. Communicate effectively in both written and oral forms. Work independently after receiving appropriate guidance. Collaborate effectively with team members in a supportive and cooperative environment.Technical Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
