Job Description

Overview

RIX Industries is seeking a Production Welder II in Sparks, NV, who will be responsible for performing high-quality TIG welding and brazing on compressors, generators, and related components. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in welding, as well as the ability to interpret technical documents independently and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality TIG welding and brazing on compressors and associated components.
  • Independently read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications to execute precise welds.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment based on job requirements.
  • Inspect completed welds for conformity to specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Support and maintain required welding certifications.
  • Troubleshoot basic welding and fit-up issues.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe conditions.
  • Monitor material usage and notify supervision of tooling needs.
  • Support production efficiency by meeting labor standards.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced welders as needed.

Required skills

  • Welding Certification from technical school
  • 3 years of hands-on TIG welding experience
  • Ability to efficiently complete weld and braze assemblies
  • Skilled in fitting and welding piping and tube assemblies
  • Maintains active certification to MIL-STD-278
  • Ability to apply technical documentation accurately
  • Shop math skills including percentages and measurements
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and basic computer applications
  • Understanding of air and gas compressors and related manufacturing equipment
  • Effective communication skills
  • U.S. Citizenship or qualified U.S. Person
