Job Description

Overview

The Production Welder I at RIX Industries is responsible for performing high-quality TIG welding and brazing on compressors and generators. This role involves reading blueprints and technical specifications while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality TIG welding and brazing on compressors and generators.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical specifications.
  • Maintain compliance with safety policies and proper use of PPE.
  • Set up and operate TIG welding equipment selecting appropriate materials.
  • Inspect welds for accuracy and quality, correcting defects as necessary.
  • Maintain welding equipment and work areas in safe conditions.
  • Assist in controlling manufacturing expenses by managing supplies and tools.
  • Ensure effective communication within the department and with company functions.
  • Participate in cross-training programs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required skills

  • Welding Certification from technical school
  • 1 year of hands-on TIG welding experience
  • Ability to read structural drawings and schematics
  • Certification per Mil-Std-278 welding and brazing standards
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing systems
  • Understanding of air and gas compressors and basic manufacturing tooling
  • Ability to perform calculations (percentages, ratios, fractions)
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • U.S. Citizenship or qualified U.S. Person status

What the company offers
