Overview

RIX Industries is seeking a Production Welder I in Sparks, NV, responsible for performing high-quality TIG welding and brazing on gas generation systems and related components. The role requires reading blueprints and ensuring compliance with safety standards while maintaining equipment and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality TIG welding and brazing on compressors and generators.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical specifications.
  • Maintain compliance with safety policies and proper use of PPE.
  • Set up and operate TIG welding equipment based on material type and thickness.
  • Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in clean condition.
  • Assist with controlling manufacturing expenses and monitor material usage.
  • Ensure effective communication within the department and participate in cross-training programs.

Required skills

  • Welding Certification from technical school
  • 1 year of hands-on TIG welding experience
  • Ability to read and understand structural drawings and schematics
  • Knowledge of Mil-Std-278 welding and brazing standards
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing systems
  • Understanding of air and gas compressors and basic manufacturing tooling
  • Communication skills for oral and written exchanges
