Job Description

Overview

The Production Welder I at RIX Industries is responsible for performing high-quality TIG welding and brazing on various components while ensuring they meet industry code requirements. The role involves reading blueprints, inspecting welds, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment in a manufacturing setting in Sparks, NV.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality TIG welding and brazing on compressors and generators
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical specifications
  • Maintain compliance with safety policies and proper use of PPE
  • Set up and operate TIG welding equipment
  • Inspect welds for quality and correctness
  • Maintain welding equipment and work areas
  • Assist in controlling manufacturing expenses and monitor material usage
  • Participate in cross-training programs and continuous improvement initiatives

Required skills

  • Welding Certification from technical school
  • 1 year of hands-on TIG welding experience
  • Ability to read and understand structural drawings and technical manuals
  • Ability to pass respirator fit and pulmonary function tests
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing systems
  • Understanding of air and gas compressors and basic manufacturing tools
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing

What the company offers
