Overview

The Production Welder I role at RIX Industries in Sparks, NV involves performing high-quality TIG welding and brazing for gas generation systems and related components. The position requires adherence to safety standards and maintenance of equipment to ensure compliance with customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality TIG welding and brazing on compressors and generators
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical specifications
  • Maintain compliance with safety policies and proper use of PPE
  • Set up and operate TIG welding equipment with appropriate materials
  • Inspect welds for accuracy and quality, correcting defects as necessary
  • Maintain welding equipment and work areas in safe and operational condition
  • Control manufacturing expenses and report on material usage
  • Ensure effective communication within the department
  • Participate in cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives

Required skills

  • Welding Certification from a technical school
  • 1 year of hands-on TIG welding experience
  • Ability to achieve and maintain certification per Mil-Std-278 standards
  • Ability to read structural drawings and schematics
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of manufacturing systems
  • Understanding of air and gas compressors and basic manufacturing tooling
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to pass respirator fit tests
