Job Description

Overview

The Production Technical Lead at GGS Structures will support manufacturing operations by setting up machines, building jigs and fixtures, and ensuring safe and efficient production processes. This role requires strong collaboration and problem-solving skills to assist operators and troubleshoot any setup-related issues in the production of structural components.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication details
  • Design, build, and modify jigs and fixtures for production
  • Set up saws, drill presses, and rolling machines
  • Define safe and efficient methods for loading and unloading parts
  • Perform first-piece setups and adjustments before production
  • Support operators and troubleshoot setup-related issues
  • Ensure setups meet safety and quality standards

Required skills

  • Post-secondary education in mechanical or manufacturing field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Experience with saws, drill presses, and rollers
  • Manufacturing or fabrication experience with steel or aluminum preferred
  • Communication skills
  • Team collaboration and problem-solving abilities
  • Proactive mindset and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a moderate volume environment
