Job Description

Overview

The Production Supervisor at U.S. Tsubaki Automotive, LLC is responsible for directing and coordinating union personnel in the manufacturing and assembly of automotive parts, specifically timing chain system components. This role involves ensuring that safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and labor utilization goals are achieved while fostering effective communication and continuous improvement within the department.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate daily activities of assigned employees in the production process
  • Provide clear expectations, coaching, and direction to employees
  • Monitor the flow of material through the department using manpower and equipment
  • Implement continuous improvement plans for the equipment and overall department
  • Monitor yearly budget goals and reduce production costs
  • Establish effective communication through toolbox and employee meetings
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, assisting workers as necessary
  • Maintain accurate time and attendance records
  • Ensure department inventory accuracy
  • Make daily decisions on production schedules and personnel matters

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
  • 3 to 7 years of supervisory experience or production leadership
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from employees
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage difficult situations
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Project Management, and ISO procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP Systems
  • Strong knowledge of EHS standards and Quality Control processes
  • Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Willingness to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift
