Job Description

Overview

Café Spice is a growing multi-site food manufacturer that produces ready-to-eat meals for national retail and foodservice customers. They are seeking an experienced Second Shift Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced food production facility, ensuring all production activities run smoothly while maintaining food safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise production employees and daily manufacturing activities
  • Ensure production schedules and output goals are met
  • Monitor attendance, tardiness, overtime, and staffing levels
  • Enforce safety, GMP, and food safety requirements
  • Train, coach, and develop leads and production employees
  • Provide performance feedback and complete evaluations
  • Create and manage staffing schedules
  • Monitor labor usage to control overtime and temporary labor costs
  • Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts
  • Maintain production reports including labor, waste, downtime, and material usage
  • Initiate and follow up on work orders as needed
  • Maintain employee training records
  • Ensure compliance with quality, sanitation, and safety standards
  • Perform and document required food safety and quality checks
  • Work with QA, Maintenance, Sanitation, and other departments to resolve issues

Required skills

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in food manufacturing in a supervisory or lead role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Experience managing employee schedules and performance
  • Knowledge of GMP, food safety, and production processes
  • Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
  • ERP system experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
