Overview

The Production Superintendent WOOD role at Austin Allen Company involves overseeing daily operations in a wood products manufacturing environment. This position requires a hands-on leader who can address production challenges, promote safety, and foster continuous improvement within the plant.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead daily production activities in safety, quality, scheduling, workflow, and shipping.
  • Maintain a safe, compliant work environment and drive a strong safety culture.
  • Recommend equipment and supply needs for operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering on new projects and equipment upgrades.
  • Prepare safety meeting content and training materials.
  • Manage budgets and ensure alignment with plant goals.
  • Mentor supervisors and build teamwork across departments.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, technical, quality, procurement, and environmental teams.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives.

Required skills

  • Strong manufacturing knowledge and understanding of equipment and processes.
  • At least 7 years of wood industry experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated and organized with strong communication skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and skilled in leading teams through change.
  • Working knowledge of accounting, purchasing, engineering, and employee relations.
