Job Description

Overview

The Production Planning & Scheduling Manager at Daniel Defense is responsible for overseeing the planning process to align demand and supply effectively. This role includes creating and maintaining schedules, monitoring inventory levels, and collaborating with various departments to ensure on-time order shipments and optimized inventory.

Key responsibilities

  • Integrate sales forecasts and inventory planning for seamless execution.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance, and operations to refine demand forecasts.
  • Participate in weekly SIOP meetings, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor key performance metrics such as forecast accuracy and fill rates.
  • Develop inventory control strategies to balance stock availability.
  • Analyze trends and fluctuations in inventory and demand.
  • Work with procurement to minimize excess inventory.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Oversee production scheduling to align with forecasts.
  • Manage scheduling team to create and maintain production schedules.
  • Communicate production changes to stakeholders.
  • Ensure data integrity in the planning system.
  • Act as a change agent for process improvement.
  • Demonstrate commitment to environmental health and safety principles.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Operations management
  • 5-10+ years in Planning or Supply Chain-oriented role
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
  • Ability to motivate individuals and teams
  • Track record in managing production and inventory
  • Attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
