Job Description

Overview

Butcher Power Products is seeking a Production Planner to coordinate, schedule, and monitor manufacturing activities to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of electrical distribution products. The role involves translating sales orders into actionable work orders and collaborating with various teams to maintain production data, monitor progress, and address any operational issues.

Key responsibilities

  • Translate released sales orders into daily and weekly manufacturing work orders.
  • Issue and maintain job travelers and production notices in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules based on material shortages, machine downtime, or engineering changes.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to verify material and tooling availability before job release.
  • Maintain planning parameters and routings within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
  • Act as a liaison between Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing for production inquiries.
  • Log production downtime and develop reports on scheduling adherence and deviations.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, operations management, or industrial engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination.
  • Experience with an ERP/MRP system and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Direct experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) preferred.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.

What the company offers

  • Compensation range of $85,000 - $95,000 per year.
