Overview

Mountain CNC is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead its CNC machine shop located in Loveland, Colorado. This role will oversee all aspects of production job scheduling, shop floor execution, and quality assurance, focusing on both rapid-turn prototype and low-to-medium volume production. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience and a passion for maximizing efficiency and meeting customer deadlines.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the CNC machine shop, managing machinists, programmers, and setup technicians.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to plan, prioritize, and optimize daily and weekly production schedules.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement practices to enhance machine throughput.
  • Manage the entire internal supply chain and logistics for timely customer delivery.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance schedules for all CNC equipment.
  • Communicate technical or delivery timelines clearly to the executive team and clients.

Required skills

  • 5+ years of direct management or supervisory experience in a CNC machining environment.
  • Proven track record in managing both prototype and production workflows.
  • Deep understanding of multi-axis CNC milling, turning, programming workflows (CAM/CAD), and tooling.
  • Strong expertise in capacity planning and floor scheduling using ERP/MRP systems.
  • Collaborative leadership style with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

What the company offers

  • Base salary range of $85,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Performance bonus of 10% - 15% of base salary, based on shop performance metrics.
  • Relocation assistance up to $10,000.
