Overview

The Production Helper role at Metalcraft of Mayville is focused on assisting in the de-nesting and finishing of parts that have been laser cut. The position may also involve supporting operators and ensuring quality control in a Just-in-time fabrication shop.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the Operator with setups and operations on lasers
  • Use grinders and sanders to improve quality on parts
  • De-nesting laser cut parts and removing laser oxide
  • Cross Train across the Laser department
  • Properly receive and store steel
  • Perform general housekeeping of the department
  • Make routine decisions and resolve basic manufacturing issues
  • Document material, production, and quality control issues
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards

Required skills

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Basic understanding of computers
  • Team collaboration skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Safe use of hand tools
