Overview

The Product Technology Engineer at SHD Composite Materials Inc. plays a key role in supporting the development of the company's US product portfolio, particularly in the aerospace sector. This position involves leading projects for new materials and providing technical support for existing products, ensuring they meet stringent industry standards and specifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical contact for the US product portfolio.
  • Provide ongoing support for existing US products and assist teams with material queries.
  • Lead and manage new product introduction projects from concept to delivery.
  • Maintain and oversee documentation accuracy for specifications and compliance reports.
  • Lead material validations and change management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Operations, and Sales for product commercialization.
  • Support customer life cycle analysis by providing technical data and sustainability metrics.
  • Stay updated on aerospace trends and regulations.

Required skills

  • Degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of composite materials, particularly thermoset prepregs.
  • Experience in aerospace or related industries like automotive or defense.
  • Knowledge of composites materials testing methods.
  • Familiarity with aerospace material specifications and qualification processes.
  • Project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel to Group locations if required.
  • Proficient in various computer programs and can perform office functions.
