Overview

The Product Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in aligning product design with manufacturing operations at Distinctive Staffing Solutions. This position, under the guidance of the Director of Operations Excellence, focuses on ensuring quality standards are met while driving continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Interface with design engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure product and manufacturing alignment
  • Act as the subject-matter expert, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and design intent
  • Support teams across production, quality, supply chain, and service with engineering expertise
  • Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and maintain ERP system data for parts and raw materials
  • Drive process improvements to enhance safety, quality, and cost efficiency
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline assembly processes and reduce waste
  • Engage in high-mix, low-volume production support with adaptable engineering solutions
  • Participate in new product development from ideation to production launch, ensuring timely product releases
  • Collaborate on product improvements, updates, and design for manufacturability and assembly
  • Develop and update process documentation and work instructions

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or electrical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant engineering role within a manufacturing setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and 3D CAD software, especially SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability principles
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze technical information and make informed recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively
