Job Description

Overview

The Product Line Systems Engineer at L3Harris Technologies is responsible for managing all engineering aspects of one or more products, becoming a product expert to oversee improvements and support efforts. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product, program, and executive management, to ensure product manufacturability and resolve engineering issues.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage overall technical responsibility for the product
  • Provide engineering support to customers and primes for product business goals
  • Support internal system engineering including DVT, software sell-off, bids, and proposals
  • Resolve Diminishing Manufacturing Source (DMS) issues when parts are unavailable
  • Identify and isolate engineering, operations, and process issues
  • Drive issues to root cause and implement corrective actions
  • Communicate and report issues, needs, and trends in a matrixed team environment
  • Maintain and produce technical documents including Product Specification and Release Notes
  • Facilitate appropriate organizational change to resolve and prevent issues

Required skills

  • ABET accredited Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience or 4 years with a Graduate Degree
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts and practice
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with production test, validation, and verification methods
  • Experience with root-cause analysis
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineering
  • Team leadership skills
  • Technical knowledge of L3Harris product line, especially RF fundamentals
