Job Description

Overview

The Product Engineer at Hoerbiger is responsible for supporting all phases of the product life cycle, focusing on the design and improvement of rotary union products. This role is ideal for early career engineers or new graduates in Mechanical Engineering who are eager to make a difference in product quality and reliability through various engineering methodologies and customer interaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Design new products and improve existing ones
  • Perform testing to ensure product integrity
  • Analyze product returns and implement design modifications
  • Develop test methods and procedures for mechanical and electrical systems
  • Build prototype models and conduct necessary testing
  • Prepare project reports with recommendations based on test results
  • Collaborate with Product Designers and Drafters on new product specifications
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding products and applications

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with CAD techniques and calculations
  • Ability to perform MTBF and FMEA calculations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Mathematical proficiency, including geometry and trigonometry
  • Problem-solving and data analysis capabilities
  • Technical instruction interpretation skills
  • Collaboration within a cross-functional engineering team
