Job Description

Overview

The Process Technician II - Complex is responsible for setting up and managing complex injection molding processes, particularly focusing on multi-shot and bi-injection molds. This on-site role in Rochester, Michigan, aims to ensure first-time quality, minimize scrap and downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives under the direction of the Process Engineer Team Leader.

Key responsibilities

  • Comply with internal safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Perform setups of multi-shot/multi-cavity molds, ensuring proper connections.
  • Manage shot size balance, transfer timing, and mold mechanisms.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose molding defects systematically.
  • Install, configure, and maintain robots and auxiliary equipment.
  • Maintain organization of die-setting stations to support SMED initiatives.
  • Document process information and quality checks in relevant systems.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineers on process development and improvements.
  • Work overtime as necessary and perform related duties as assigned.

Required skills

  • Advanced knowledge of multi-shot injection molding processes and parameters.
  • Understanding of material compatibility and adhesion.
  • Troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of 5S and SMED philosophy.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with SAP and MES systems.
  • Hands-on experience with hygroscopic and non-hygroscopic resins.
  • Experience with RJG eDART System.
  • Master Molder I & II certification is a plus.
