Job Description

Overview

As the Process Engineer for Shaped Tube Electrolytic Machining (STEM) at GE Vernova, you will lead the optimization and sustainability of ECM/STEM production processes. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while driving cost-effective production.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead process development and optimization using advanced design of experiments and data analytics.
  • Manage troubleshooting and nonconformance report resolution, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards through Process Hazard Analyses and Process Safety Management elements.
  • Oversee electrolyte management and ensure environmental compliance.
  • Author and maintain standard work, process instructions, and control plans for production.
  • Define equipment strategy and oversee installation, commissioning, and capability verification.
  • Collaborate with Quality/Metrology on inspection plans and process capability requirements.
  • Execute cross-functional process improvements and manage stakeholder communication.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and manage operational expenses.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers and technicians.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or equivalent experience
  • 6 years of experience in manufacturing or process development
  • Proven experience leading safety compliance and using P&IDs
  • Advanced proficiency with statistical methods, DOE, and SPC
  • Hands-on experience with electrochemical machining (ECM/STEM)
  • Experience with nickel-based superalloys and tooling/fixturing expertise
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Lean/Six Sigma credentials preferred
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
