Job Title: Process EngineerLocation: Waverly, IowaSalary: $65-90KJob Summary of the Process Engineer: The Process Engineer will provide engineering support by overseeing assigned production operations, handling technical issues as a contact for customers, troubleshooting product production issues, and improving processes to ensure quality, safety, and economic viability.Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Process Engineer:Develop process/project engineering plans for assigned projects and present to corporate engineering and site management.Lead and/or support engineering projects at the facility, including ensuring the success in meeting various objectives such as schedule, budget, and relatedSupport the development of a project budget and monitor expenses, adjust and offset expenses in other areas if necessaryConsults with contractors, vendors, and/or suppliers to finalize engineering project specs and/or installationsReports back to the site management team and corporate engineering on project statusMeet with relevant customers to ensure needs are met and/or find and determine the relevant path forward, and justify it by business objectives.Support and/or lead the development and writing of manufacturing SOPs and/or work instructions with Process Leads.Oversee assigned ongoing production jobsDirect production personnel working on assigned projectsPrioritize critical tasks to meet production goalsOversee and/or run production and/or development jobsImplement the production schedule put forth by the Operations Manager and/or the Production ManagerImplement equipment/process training programs for OperatorsProvide coverage for Production Operators during breaks and as schedule dictatesProject Scale-up and Process ImprovementIdentify process bottlenecks and develop a streamlining strategyCoordinate the implementation of the streamlining projectCoordinate process improvement efforts and communicate to customers as appropriateWork closely with other members of the engineering team to scale up the design of new processes and equipmentWork closely with other members of the engineering team on equipment installation, streamlining, and troubleshootingWork with the Site Manager to identify areas for process improvementRegularly update the status of projects with ManagementWork in multi-function teamsWork closely with the Project Manager to understand customer expectationsWork closely with the Project Manager to evaluate job costs for current and future proposalsProvide technical expertise and be a technical resource for the companyReport maintenance issues/requests to the Maintenance teamIdentify routine maintenance failures and provide long-term solutionsBe the technical lead for key customer accounts as definedEducation & Experience Requirements of the Process Engineer:Bachelors degree in engineering or related, and/or equivalent experience1-5+ years experience in a chemical/food manufacturing environment OR without a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 10 years experience in applying engineering principles and processes in a comparable industry is required.Food manufacturing plant experience strongly preferred.Knowledge of ISO, QSR/GMP, and quality processes and procedures preferred
